That pathetic feeling where you get all excited cause your comment count went up in your last chapter only to remember that it was your own comment.
Getting a bit discouraged. So many subscribers and views but I get barely 3-4 comments per chapter. I probably suck :( People have nothing nice to say and they say nothing at all.

Not long ago, I was writing in two different fandoms - same me, same writing style, same levels of effort. In one fandom, there was a strong commenting culture and I got a lovely number of kudos and some great feedback. In the other, I got about a thousand hits per chapter - and at most one comment. Most of which were just variations on "update" and one from someone soliciting other readers to finish the story themselves because I wasn't updating fast enough.
People do have something nice to say about your stories. They're just not saying it.

I'm sure they have something good to say about my story, they are reading it after all. Who would go on reading something they hate? I just think that the Avengers fandom is so active that there's too many fics, too little time, basically. I already see fics that I find amazing get ignored or just one-two comments. It is what it is.
Which fandoms are you writing in these days?

You're right - it is what it is, and it's definitely not you. All I've been able to land on is being the change I want to see by making an effort to comment myself, and focusing on the reward of writing the stories I really want to tell.
I'm still writing a little Harry Potter, and a handful of one-off smaller fandoms, but it's mostly Team Fortress 2 that has my attention at the moment. I take it you're in MCU these days?
